Remember Remember the 5th November...

Finally we found out who Robert Catesby really is. Turns out he's friends with Guy Fawkes and along with 11 other men, 36 barrels of gunpowder and a rented cellar under the Houses of Parliament, they tried to blow King James up! Poor Guy came to an unfortunate end when he was hung, drawn and quartered, Robert didn't survive either. Take a look at some of our work. Please leave us a comment.

The year 4s enjoyed a brilliant afternoon run by the Sports Leaders from Diss High School. The afternoon was a great success and all the children had the chance to play in a competitive game. Well done year 4s you played fantastically! Special thanks to the Sports Leaders who made the event possible today.

A Trip to London

After speaking to Robert on the telephone this morning he asked us to visit London and find more supporters to join his protest. We traveled through the streets on our bus and noticed all of King James' ships carrying expensive goods, including sugar and wine. Then we noticed the people with little money on the streets and lots of us thought life in London during 1604 must have been very hard for some people.
Harrison and Declan discussing King James

Harrison seemed a bit of a dangerous bus driver - we almost crashed into St Paul's Cathedral.
A debate about the unfair taxes.
Joe was angry about how King James was treating everybody, but some people were happy because they were rich.

We had discussions with the locals in London to find out what they thought about having King James as a king.

A Message from 1604

Last week a man called Robert got in touch. He was very angry about life in 1604 and did not like his king, King James I. He said he was being made to go to a Catholic church, when he wanted to go to a different one. He was upset because he had to pay the king a lot of money and thought it was unfair that he had so much money when other people were very poor.
